Illustration own research - Gregory Euclide

Gregory Euclide

  • Born 1974 America.
  • Is a contemporary artist and teacher.
  • He creates sculptural relief work, paintings and installations.
  • His work is totally mixed media, resembling landscape paintings.
  • He has not one human figure with in his work, "When you see a human figure you identify with the form, what they are doing, and that becomes the emphasis. By showing just the land without humans I'm able to show it as it is and what they've left behind."
  • To create his work he uses organic matter with artificial man made material, some of them are found objects, and then uses bent and shaped paper to make the 3D elements.

I really like his work, for similar reasons that I like Dittmar's work, its just not what you consider as illustrations but it is still equally beautiful to look at and another thing i like it  the detailed paintings in the background coupled with the found objects, i just like her hasn't left it as a pretty landscape picture that he has twisted 3D elements into it.
