Modeling - Itai lustgarten

Itai Lustgarten
I looked at his work in the next mac lesson as a follow on from looking at Julian Opie, a more detailed work of art but he uses similar skill in which to creat his work the same as Opie.
Some of his work:

  • Born 1975
  • He is a graphic artist/ designer/ lecturer
  • Works with Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Maya, Flash
  • His list of work he does, photo retouching & composite, high-end illustration, medical illustration, photorealistic illustration, logo styling and improving, book layout, 3D modelling
  • Interested in sketching, drawing, painting, photography, 3D art, vector and pixel illustration, silver smithing, photo editing and retouching which all lends it self nicely to his working life.

I did like his work, his photorealistic illustrations are very impressive works of art, and after looking at this work for my  next mac lesson i focused of playing about on illustrator to work out the best tools for creating and achieving realistic detail in my work.

Modelling- Julian Opie

Julian Opie
I can apon this artist in my mac lesson where we were using his way of creating work via adobe illustrator. With photographs of our own faces and using the tools in illustrator we were able to create work with his style in mind.
 Some of his work:

  • Born in 1958, London
  • He is a visual artist, he fields are painting and sculpture.
  • He became as a influential figure in the 1980s art scene after he made a series of painted metal sculptures that has loosely painted imagery with steel shapes.
  • Opie describes is way of working- "i often feel that trying to make something realistic is the one criteria i can feel fairly sure of. Another one i sometimes use is, would i like it in my room? and occasionally use the idea, if god allowed you to show him one ( portrait ) to judge you by, would this really be it?

I don't particularly like his work i can see the relevance of looking at him in my lesson, as a source of inspiration for our own work. But personally i prefer more detailed work and i struggled when making my own piece using his style of minimal facial detail
